Does Your Business Need a Network & Security Assessment?

We find vulnerabilities and weaknesses in your network and security infrastructure BEFORE something goes wrong!

Is your business’s network infrastructure set up to scale as you grow?

What would happen to productivity and profits if your network crashed for a full day?

Do you have a disaster recovery plan in case of a server failure or you lose all your files?

Are you confident that your data is secure from both external and internal entry points?

These may sound like doomsday scenarios for your business, but these are the very real threats facing companies today, especially small businesses.

  • Your network, including computers, servers, software, internet and intranet connections – they’re what keeps you connected to your team and to your clients, ensuring communication and productivity are maintained, even beyond your office.
  • Your data, including customer files, payroll information, banking information, and credit card details – this is highly valuable and confidential information that should never be in the wrong hands.

It’s important to consider how your business will be affected if something happened to either of those crucial elements. Network failures can lead to long stretches of downtime that can cost thousands of dollars in lost revenue and productivity. A security failure is even more damaging to your business because in addition to losing potential revenue, you can lose your own and your clients’ financial and personal information.

Pinpointing Vulnerabilities Within Your Network

The key to protecting your operations and preventing a data breach starts by knowing exactly where weaknesses in your infrastructure are because if you don’t know how a disaster can happen, you won’t know how to prevent it. While most small business owners believe their network and security infrastructure is secure and stable, the truth is that few businesses are invincible, and you don’t want to risk losing everything you’ve worked so hard to achieve.

Common network vulnerabilities for small businesses include:

  • Malicious Software (“Malware”) – Viruses, spyware, and ransomware can shut down your networks or steal information, and often, it enters your system internally through an email that is opened or clicking on an ad.
  • Outdated Software Applications – Software applications and platforms have weaknesses within their code that are constantly being patched and fixed, but if you don’t update them, a hacker can sneak in with a command prompt to steal data.
  • Weak or Default Passwords – Malware programs crack weak passwords easily, leaving your data up for grabs.
  • Firewall Configuration – Your firewall is only as strong as who and what it allows through.
  • Mobile Devices – Using public wi-fi, Bluetooth, and using untested apps can open the door to attacks and access to classified information.
  • Lack of Data Backup – If you’re struck by ransomware and your system is locked or a server crashes, unless you have disaster recovery, you’ve lost your business.

At CEI we’re dedicated to helping small businesses stay safe and maintain operations with ease. In order to better serve you, we’re offering a no-obligation, comprehensive Network and Security Assessment. This in-depth scan provides us with a deep dive into your network so we can uncover any issues and vulnerabilities lying underneath the service. This allows you to create a plan to strengthen and stabilize your network security infrastructure from simple changes like fixing passwords and adjusting your firewall settings to more intensive updates like providing network security to your remote workers.

How Our Network Security Scan Works

We use an advanced scanning tool that analyzes every aspect of your business’s network. One of our experienced IT professionals will remote into your server to begin scanning your network and all its components, including servers, hardware, software, configurations, and protocols. After running this brief scan, we extract an encrypted data file that allows us to analyze the results, showing us the exact state of your network. In less than five business days, you’ll receive a full, comprehensive report detailing our findings.

Network & Security Assessment FAQs

What exactly is the Network and Security Assessment?

Our Network and Security Assessment begins with using a specialized scanning tool that analyzes your business’s network, servers, computers, and other components and configurations. This scan allows our team of licensed IT professionals to create a full, detailed report that shows the current state of your network – including hard to detect issues such as if any information has been used on the dark web.

Why would my business benefit from this service?

Any business, large or small, will benefit from knowing where weaknesses and vulnerabilities in both the network itself and in your security.  We will not only inform you of issues including weak passwords and internet performance, we’ll go as deep as to identify threats from dark web sources. You will be able to see all of the issues with your network right in front of you in an easy to read and understandable format.

How does the assessment work?

We start with one of our IT professionals remoting into your server – you will need to provide us with your admin credentials. Once they are remoted in, they will start scanning, allowing the application to run in the background for a brief period of time – usually less than an hour.  When the scan is complete, the member of our IT team will extract the encrypted data file from your device and start analyzing the results. With the information they find, they will create a report that shows you an in-depth look of the state of your security and your network.

How long does it take to get my results?

You will receive your full, customized report in less than 5 business days.

Do I have to sign up for services in order to get an assessment?

No! This is a zero-obligation service we are offering that is free for our CEI customers and deeply discounted for other businesses.
