Mark Clark, an esteemed member of the CEI team, has been selected as Ambassador of the Year by three Triangle Chambers of Commerce: Apex, Holly Springs, and Morrisville.

Chamber Ambassadors promote and act as a representative for local businesses, expanding their relevance within the state and the nation. Boards and Chambers select the Ambassador of the Year based on event attendance, volunteer efforts, and member engagement activities. Lauren Umbdenstock of the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce, said of Mark:

“This year’s ambassador is extremely active in the Morrisville, Cary, Apex, and Holly Springs communities. His strong commitment to his clients and customer service has propelled him to great success not only within his own company but also within the communities he works. He has helped us carry the message of the Chamber to his own network, referring several businesses throughout the year, resulting in new Chamber member companies. This, is in addition to acclimating new members and introducing them to the benefits of the Chamber. His dynamic personality and smiling face is sure to welcome everyone at Chamber events.”

Mark Clark on Being Chosen as Ambassador of the Year

Mark joined the CEI team in 2015 as an account manager and has already made a huge impact on the team. He is seen as a leader in and out of the office. We spoke with him about being named as Ambassador of the Year by three Chambers of Commerce, which is quite an unusual honor!

Interview with Mark Clark:

1. Tell us about the work you have done with small businesses in the Triangle.

Mark: A majority of my work has been geared towards creating a business relationship and being a resource for these business owners. I have customers in almost every different vertical market, so I’m happy to connect them with other businesses in hopes that it will ultimately help them, grow their business, and prosper.

2. How has CEI supported you in your efforts?

Mark: A majority of Chamber events I attend are during business hours.  CEI has allowed me to step away from my day-to-day responsibilities to help serve the community and Chamber.

3. Do you have any specific goals for 2018?

Mark: Sell more than I did last year

4.  Do you have a favorite local non-profit?

Mark: All of my non-profit customers are my favorite.  If I had to pick one, it would be Gigi’s Playhouse.  I have grown very close to the staff, volunteers, and students.

5. What advice do you have for small businesses in the Triangle?

Mark: I highly recommend networking as much as possible.  Yes, it may require stepping away from work during the day and attending evening events, but it’s imperative if you want to become part of the community in which you work.
